Opsy helps a Shopify operator turn confirmed product information into a draft that can be checked in Shopify Admin. Start with one product, one buyer question and a short list of facts. Ask for a draft, review what was written and keep missing information visible before you consider publishing.
This walkthrough is for owners and operators of B2B Shopify stores that generate inquiries or quote requests. It uses a fictional packaging machine to show how to prepare the task and review the result. It is a teaching example, not a customer case study or a report of an executed store task.
What does Opsy help you do?
Opsy is a guided Shopify operations skill used with an AI agent and a configured project workspace. Its current documented scope includes product content, blog content and analysis of supplied local data. For product work, it can organize confirmed materials, prepare content and carry out approved Shopify actions with a readback and handover. The Opsy project documentation describes its current capabilities and setup requirements.
The useful starting point is a small, inspectable task. A product manager supplies the facts; an operator prepares the draft; someone responsible for the product checks its accuracy. The draft gives those people a concrete page to discuss. It does not make missing specifications true.

What should you prepare before the first task?
Choose a product with a known owner and source material you can trace. A specification sheet, approved sales notes and correctly matched photographs are more useful than a long folder of mixed revisions. State who the intended buyer is and what that person should be able to decide after reading the page.
For this example, imagine a product called P-01 Packaging Machine. The only assumed assessment requirement is that a prospective buyer supplies the bag type, material and dimensions. These are fictional teaching inputs; replace every example fact with verified information for your own product.
| Input | Teaching example | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Product identity | P-01 Packaging Machine | Keeps the task attached to one product. |
| Intended reader | A food-processing equipment evaluator | Sets the buyer question and level of detail. |
| Main question | What should I prepare for a sample assessment? | Gives the page a clear decision to support. |
| Assumed assessment inputs | Bag type, bag material and bag dimensions | Defines the information the buyer should send. |
| Unknown details | Speed, compatibility range, assessment fees and delivery timing | Prevents gaps from becoming sales promises. |
| Requested outcome | One English product draft and a missing-information list | Makes completion easy to inspect. |
Keep the source, revision date and confirmation owner alongside each important fact. When two documents disagree, resolve the conflict with the product owner before using either statement. A polished sentence is not evidence.
How do you ask Opsy to prepare the draft?
Use a bounded request. Name the product, the audience, the source material and the intended output. The prompt below is for a configured project; it is not an installation command. Replace the teaching inputs before using it with a real store.
Prepare an English product content draft for P-01 Packaging Machine.
Audience: an equipment evaluator at a food-processing business.
Buyer question: what information is needed for a sample assessment?
Teaching facts: the required inputs are bag type, material and dimensions.
Unknown: speed, compatibility range, fees and delivery timing.
Use only the confirmed materials I provide for the real product.
Flag conflicting or missing facts. Do not infer technical specifications.
Check whether the product already exists before proposing a new one.
Return the proposed title, description and missing-information list.
Show me the proposed Shopify draft action for review.
Do not publish the product.
Read the proposed content before approving a store action. For a real task, confirm the target store and whether Opsy should update an existing object or create a new draft. Keeping that choice explicit helps avoid duplicate products and accidental changes to an existing page.
What should a useful draft look like?
The first draft should connect a supported fact to the buyer's next step. For the fictional assessment example, a short passage might read:
To discuss a sample assessment for P-01, prepare the bag type, bag material and bag dimensions. Submit those details through the product page's inquiry option so the team can review the assessment requirements. Compatibility and assessment conditions still need confirmation.
This passage is an illustrative content fragment, not a complete product description. It explains what to prepare without adding a speed claim, a free-service offer or a delivery promise. A real page still needs the product's verified identity, relevant specifications, appropriate images and any other information necessary for the buyer's decision.
In the current Opsy workflow, a minimally filled product can be created as a non-public draft after its core facts and safety checks pass. Outstanding content, SEO or media work remains on the completion list. That is useful when reviewing a page in Shopify Admin is the next practical step; draft creation does not mean the page is ready to publish.

What should you check in Shopify Admin?
Once the specific draft action has been approved and completed, compare the saved product with the proposed content. Open the supplied Admin or preview link. Check the object itself, not only the agent's completion message.
- Identity: Is this the intended store and product? Does the object ID match the handover?
- Facts: Can you trace each specification and capability statement to an approved source?
- Buyer usefulness: Can the reader understand what the product is and what to send next?
- Unknowns: Have unconfirmed fees, timing and performance claims stayed out of the public-facing copy?
- Images and layout: Do the images match the product, and is the draft readable on mobile?
- Inquiry route: Does the page use the store's configured contact option and explain the information to provide?
- Publication state: Is the product still a draft, with the remaining work clearly recorded?
When something needs correction, give precise feedback: identify the sentence, the correct fact and its source. Keep a short handover containing the saved product ID, preview location, completed work and unresolved items. That record makes the next task easier to resume.
Is this a good first workflow for your store?
It is a useful starting point when you have reliable product materials, a person who can confirm them and a B2B inquiry journey to support. Start with one product whose review can teach your team what a complete brief and acceptable draft look like. Do not use this walkthrough as instructions for order handling, refunds or paid advertising; those are outside the Opsy scope described here.
Before a live task, the agent host, project configuration, Shopify CLI and store authorization must be in place. Use the current project documentation for setup. After the draft is checked, finish its outstanding work and make publication a deliberate next step.
